Drug Uses
Flextra DS is a treatment to pains, headaches and fever. It may also be used to relieve certain arthritic conditions or other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
This medicine is to be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually every four hours. You shouldn't exceed the recommended dosage or take this medicament longer than prescribed. Persistent pains may be a symptoms of more serious condition, and as such they need to be checked with your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
If you have any medical history, especially lung problems, glaucoma, enlarged prostate or any allergies you should notify your doctor. This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so activities requiring alertness should be avoided. Using alcohol beverages while treatment with Flextra DS may cause serious liver damage. Children may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine, so caution is advised when treating children. If you are breast feeding you should notify your doctor, because it is not known if this drug passes into breast milk.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Flextra DS take it as soon as remembered, if it's not longer than an hour. If you do not remember until later you should skip the missed dose and resume your usual schedule. You shouldn't double your dose to catch up.
Possible Side Effects
Serious side effects may include skin redness, swelling, persistent fever, stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual weakness, drowsiness or dizziness. If you notice any of these effects, or if they won't stop or become worse then you should notify your doctor. Also when you experience other side effects not listed above.
Storage
Flextra DS need to be stored in a dark and dry place in temperatures between 15 and 30°C (59 and 86°F).
Overdose
If following symptoms occur - difficulty breathing, extreme nervousness or restlessness, flushed skin, hallucination, racing or irregular heartbeat, seizure, shortness of breath, extreme tiredness, unstable temperature, unusual muscle stiffness or vomiting, you may have overdosed Flextra DS. In such case you should seek medical help immediately.
More Information
Until you fully know how you react to this medicine you should avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or involve yourself in any dangerous activities. This medicine alone, mixed with other medicines or alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or perform other dangerous tasks. You should not take any additional acetaminophen medicines without doctor's consultation. Flextra DS may cause liver damage when combined with excessive use of alcohol.
