Imitrex is used as a migraine headaches treatment.

How Drug Works
Imitrex influences on the blood vessels and the nerves that are the cause of migraine headaches.
How Taken
One dose of Imitrex should be taken when migraine symptoms occur. In rare cases it may be needed to take two doses, but no more than 200 mg a day.
Possible Side Effects
Imitrex may cause dizziness, nausea, fatigue and drowsiness.
Warnings/Precautions
Imitrex shouldn't be taken if any of the following is involved: allergy to Imitrex, Raynaud syndrome, strokes in the past, certain types of heart disease, transient ischemic attacks, uncontrolled blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease. If you are a smoker, have high cholesterole levels, or high blood pressure you should consult your personal doctor.
Overdose
Immediate medical care is needed when suspecting overdose.
Drug Interactions
If you take any headache medication, ergotamine or MAO inhibitors, such as linezolid, furazolidone, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, selegiline. You should tell your doctor about it.
Missed Dose
Imitrex is to be taken when a migraine attack occurs, therefore a dose can't be missed.
Storage
Imitrex should be kept in a container it came in, out of reach of children, at normal temperature away from moisture or heat.
Pregnancy/Nursing
Consult your doctor before taking Imitrex if you are pregnant or nursing a baby.
