Drug Uses
Penlac is an antifungal treatment for topical treatment for onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails.
How Taken
Before starting treatment with Penlac, you should remove any loose nail or nail material using nail clippers or nail files. Penlac needs to be applied once daily, preferably before bedtime, to all affected nails with the application brush that was included in the package. Penlac should be applied to entire nail, and then left to dry for approximately thirty seconds before putting on socks or stockings. Bath or shower should be avoided within eight hours after application.
Warnings/Precautions
Penlac should be used only on nails and adjacent skin. Contact with eyes and mouth should be avoided.
Missed Dose
If missed a dose of Penlac it may be applied as soon as remembered.
Possible Side Effects
When using Penlac you may eventually experience some rash, however if you happen to experience increased irritation, such as redness, itching, burning, blistering, swelling or oozing you should inform your doctor.
Storage
Penlac should be stored away from the reach of children at room temperature between 15 and 30°C (59 and 86°F).
Overdose
If you suspect overdose you should seek medical attention, however overdose is highly unlikely to occur.
More Information
This product is flammable, so you should avoid using it near heat sources or open flame. Also you shouldn't use nail polish or other nail cosmetics on the nails that are treated.
