Drug Uses
Remeron is used for relief in depressive disorders, such as feeling of guilt, worthlessness or major sadness.
How Taken
Typical usage of Remeron is one dose daily (15 mg), preferably at evening, before sleep.
Warnings/Precautions
Remeron shouldn't be mixed with MOIs, or if such medicaments were used within last 14 days before starting Remeron treatment. Your doctor need to be notified of any kidney or liver disease, manic disorder, high or low blood pressure or any blood problems, recent heart attack or epilepsy. Remeron is in the FDA class C, which means that it is not known if it can harm an unborn baby. If you are pregnant or may become pregnant during the Remeron treatment you should let your doctor know about it. It's not known if Remeron passes into breast milk, so breast feeding is not recommended, and your doctor need to be notified if you are breast feeding. Side effects, such as unsteadiness, drowsiness or dizziness may increase, when you are over 60 years of age. Dosage adjustment may be needed.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose you can take one as soon as you remember about it. If it's almost time for next dose you should resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not double-dose to catch up for a missed one, unless told so by your doctor.
Possible Side Effects
You should immediately seek medical attention or notify your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects: allergic reaction, seizures, irregular heartbeat, fever, chills, or sores in mouth or nose. Less serious side effects include drowsiness, nausea, increase in weight, dizziness or mild tremor. If any of these side effects occur or become bothersome you should notify your doctor.
Storage
Remeron should be stored in light resistant container in temperature of 20°- 25° C(68°- 77° F).
Overdose
Overdose symptoms of Remeron include drowsiness, impaired memory and tachycardia. When such effects appear you should seek emergency medical attention.
More Information
Remeron may cause drowsiness or dizziness, you should avoid driving and operating heavy machinery when experiencing those. Alcohol may cause increase in those effects, so it should be used with caution while Remeron treatment.
