Drug Uses
Tamiflu is a treatment for acute illness caused by influenza.
How Taken
Tamiflu may be taken with or without food, but when taken with food your tolerability may be enhanced. Recommended oral dose is 75 mg, two times a day for five days. For best results treatment should begin within 2 days of noticing symptoms of influenza.
Warnings/Precautions
Tamiflu cannot replace flu vaccination. You should use this drug with caution, because it passes into breast milk.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose you can take one as soon as you remember about it. If it's almost time for next dose you should resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not double-dose to catch up for a missed one.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects of Tamiflu aren't serious, they include nausea, vomiting diarrhea, cough, insomnia and fatigue.
Storage
Tamiflu should be kept in refrigerator, but not freezer, in temperatures of 2 to 8°C (36o to 46oF).
Overdose
Overdose symptoms include increased nausea and vomiting. Emergency medical attention is needed when suspecting overdose.

Treatment with Tamiflu should begin as soon as possible from first noticing flu symptoms. Prevention should begin as soon as exposure happened, after consultation with doctor.
