Drug Uses
Temovate cream is a relievant in skin condition related itching, redness, and swelling. It is safe for any type of skin, and has very little side effects.
How Taken
Small amount of medicine should be applied to affected area twice a day to a washed and dried area. Then the medicine should be gently rubbed until evenly distributed. You need to wash your hands after applying, unless they are a part of treated area. Leave the treated area unbandaged, unless directed otherwise by your doctor. If Temovate gets into your eye wash it with large amount of water.
Warnings/Precautions
If you show no signs of improvement, or if your condition gets worse after few days of using this medicine you should contact your doctor. It is not known either if the Temovate is harmful to fetus or if it is passed into breast milk, so when using this medication while pregnant you should be supervised by your doctor.
Missed Dose
Missed dose should be applied as soon as remembered, unless it's about time for next dose. If so next scheduled dose should be applied, and doses shouldn't be doubled to catch up.
Possible Side Effects
Temovate doesn't have any serious side effects unless taken in large doses and for a long time. In such cases it may occur blurred vision, halos around lights, an irregular heartbeat, insomnia, mood changes, weight gain, fatigue, some redness, blistering, burning, itching, or peeling. You should notify your doctor of these side effects, or any other side effects not mentioned above, and which are bothrsome or seem unusual.
Storage
Temovate should be stored at room temperature, in a dark and dry place. It should be kept in a tightly closed container away from the reach of children. After expiration it is needed to throw the medication away.
Overdose
Temovate may eventually cause Cushing's syndrome when it gets into bloodstream for a prolonged period. If you suspect overdose of Temovate, you should immediately seek medical attention immediately.
More Information
Unless directed by doctor you shouldn't use plastic bandages, dressings, or diapers that do not allow air to circulate to the affected area, and increase the amount of drug the body adsorbs. You also shouldn't use other topical products on the affected area, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
