Viagra is a medication to treat impotence in males. It increases the body ability to achieve and maintain erection. This pill however doesn't protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.
How Taken
Viagra is to be taken by mouth as needed, approximately one hour before sexual activity, but this time may vary from four hours to thirty minutes. This medication shouldn't be taken more than once a day, and it should be used exactly as prescribed by doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
If you had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeats within the last six months, have a history of heart failure, coronary artery disease, angina, high or low blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, blood problems, including sickle cell anemia or leukemia, bleeding disorder, stomach ulcer, retinitis pigmentosa, physical deformity of the penis such as Peyronie's disease, condition that could lead to prolonged and painful erections, such as a tumor of the bone marrow, sickle cell anemia, or leukemia or are taking another medicine to treat impotence. You should inform your doctor about any of those before starting treatment with Viagra. Although Viagra is not destined for usage by women, FDA assigned it to category B. It means that it is not harmful to an unborn baby. It is not known whether Viagra passes into breast milk. If you are over 65 years of age, you may be more likely to experience side effects from Viagra.
Missed Dose
It is not possible to miss a dose of Viagra, because it is used as needed.
Possible Side Effects
Viagra can cause some side effects. These effects are rather mild, and shouldn't last longer than few hours. Most common side effects of Viagra are headaches, flushing of the face, and upset stomach. Less common side effects may also occur. Those effects include temporary changes in color vision, more sensitiveness to light, or blurred vision. In rare occasions Viagra can cause an erection lasting many hours. If your erection lasts more than four hours you should call your doctor, because of permanent damage your penis can suffer.
Storage
Viagra should be kept in it's original container away of the reach of children, in temperatures of 15-30°C (59-86°F).
Overdose
Seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a Viagra overdose are not known, but are Viagra overdose symptoms may include chest pain, dizziness, an irregular heartbeat, and swelling of the ankles or legs. You should seek emergency medical attention when suspecting overdose.

Viagra shouldn't be mixed with any medicines that contain nitrates, because it may lead to blood pressure drop below a safe level, and you may feel dizzy, faint or even have a heart stroke. Nitrates are found in many prescription drugs that are used to treat chest pains. Viagra is intended only for patients with erectile dysfunction. Viagra is not for newborns, children, or women.
