Drug Uses
Zyloprim is a medicament used to reduce the production of uric acid. It's used to cure increased levels of uric acid caused by cancer treatment, and kidney stones.
How Taken
Zyloprim tablet need to be taken usually once a day, preferably after a meal. While taking Zyloprim you should drink at least eight glasses of liquids, unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Excessive amounts of C vitamin should be avoided, as it may increase your chance to develop kidney stones.
Warnings/Precautions
Your doctor need to be notified about any kidney or liver disease before starting treatment with Zyloprim. It is not known if Zyloprim may harm an unborn baby, so if you are pregnant, or breast feeding or may become pregnant during therapy you should notify your doctor.
Missed Dose
Missed dose can be taken as soon as remembered, unless it's about time for next scheduled dose. Doses can't be doubled to catch up with the schedule.
Possible Side Effects
If you happen to experience allergic reaction or blood in your urine or pain while urinating, rash, severe nausea and vomiting you should consult your doctor immediately. Less serious side effects may also occur, such as drowsiness or dizziness, acute attack, arthritis pains. In such cases you also should consult your doctor, inform your doctor also of any other bothersome side effects not mentioned above.
Storage
Zyloprim should be stored in a dark, dry place in temperatures varying between 15-25°C (59-77°F).
Overdose
It's not known what are the symptoms of Zyloprim overdose. When suspecting such you should seek emergency medical help.
More Information
Zyloprim may cause drowsiness, so caution should be applied when driving, operating heavy machinery or performing other hazardous activities. Alcohol may worsen your condition. You should follow your doctor's recommendation about diet.
